Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in business related or food service-related field desirable
- Minimum (2) years’ experience in management in retail/restaurant/supermarket environment
Responsibilities
- Promotes excellent customer relations by instilling positive customer focused behavior with associates
- Takes customer orders over the phone or in person at the store with a pleasant and positive attitude
- Ensures fresh quality merchandise by using proper product handling techniques
- Assists Produce Manager in day-to-day functions of Produce operations such as merchandising, ad execution, associate engagement and customer service
- Develops and implements merchandising plans that meet financial goals
- Oversees department inventories by tracking weekly sales reports, product orders and supplies
- Assists with scheduling all department associates, participates in training, rewards and recognizes performance and delegates work assignments
- Manages inventory levels and reviews orders to ensure product quantities meet customer demand
- Checks and verifies all department deliveries and invoices to ensure accurate billing
- Controls department expenses by improving operations and efficiencies
- Keeps produce department well stocked and appealing to meet customer demands
- Unpacks cartons and crates of merchandise, cleans and trims produce, stocks area with new merchandise
- Assists in building attractive displays
- Maintains backroom and receiving area security and organization by promoting procedures
- Ensures smooth function of department and store by cooperating with co-workers and superiors
- Responsible for utilization of all company provided Personal Protected Equipment (PPE)
