Requirements
- PhD degree in Language Education, Applied Linguistics, or a related field, with a focus on plurilingualism and/or critical sociolinguistics
- Knowledge of heritage, Indigenous or other minority language programs
- Knowledge of ethnolinguistically marginalized and/or racialized communities
- Knowledge of the sociopolitical context of language education in Quebec
- Proficiency in English and French
- An additional language would be an asset
Responsibilities
- Teaching graduate and undergraduate courses
- Supervision of individual students
- Assessment of student work
- Applying for grants and conducting funded research
- Engaging in original scholarly activities
- Contributing to the university and scholarly communities
Preferred Qualifications
- Elementary/secondary school and/or higher education teaching experience related to second language pedagogy in Quebec and/or Canada
- Familiarity with the competency-based approach of the Quebec Education Program (QEP)
- Experience in language assessment
- Familiarity with language frameworks (e.g. CEFR, CLB)
- Experience with qualitative/ethnographic approaches to research
- Experience with mixed-methods research
- Graduate supervision
- Teaching an additional language to learners of any age
