Requirements
- PhD degree in second language education, applied linguistics, and/or a related field
- Fluency in both French and English
- Specialization in teaching French as a second language (e.g., immersion education or other content-based approaches)
- Experience in teacher education
- Background in social justice education
Responsibilities
- Teaching graduate and undergraduate courses
- Supervision of individual students
- Assessment of student work
- Applying for grants and conducting funded research
- Engaging in original scholarly activities
- Contributing to the University and scholarly communities
Preferred Qualifications
- Elementary/secondary school and/or higher education teaching experience related to second language pedagogy in Quebec and/or Canada
- Experience in classroom-based research
- Experience in decolonial and plurilingual pedagogies
- Experience with qualitative/ethnographic approaches to research
- Experience with mixed methods research
- Graduate supervision
- Experience teaching French as an additional language to learners of any age
- Knowledge of, and connection to, marginalized and/or racialized communities
- Awareness of the socio-political context of language education in Quebec
