Requirements

  • Candidates must have a doctoral degree in electrical engineering or a closely related field.
  • The successful candidate will have a background in Integrated Circuits (ICs), Microprocessors/Microcontrollers, Power Systems, and/or Data Communication.
  • The successful candidate will be expected to incorporate teaching methods that promote learning among diverse populations and will create a learning environment that genuinely supports, respects, and addresses the diverse needs of student populations at Penn State Harrisburg.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have prior teaching experience.

Responsibilities

  • Teach 9 credit hours per semester, with a reduced load of 3 credits per semester for the first two years.
  • Offer introductory electrical engineering courses, as well as upper-level undergraduate and graduate courses in specified areas.
  • Participate in recruitment and retention activities.
  • Advise both undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Supervise capstone and honor’s projects, and supervise graduate student culminating experiences.
  • Serve on committees at the department, school, and college level to advance the mission of the college and university.
  • Promote and advance the school’s commitment to education and improving the diversity of voices in STEM.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preference will be given to candidates who have prior teaching experience.
