Requirements
- Hold an MFA or equivalent
- Minimum of two years post-secondary teaching experience relevant to the position
- Active creative research practice
- Demonstrated record of exemplary teaching at the post-secondary level
- Teaching interests rooted in the discipline of painting
- Experience teaching a range of techniques and concepts in painting (traditional to contemporary)
- Ability to extend the discourse of painting through experimental, hybrid, or other approaches relevant to contemporary practice
- Capacity to bring critical theory, global contexts, diverse cultural perspectives, and intersectional approaches to pedagogy
Responsibilities
- Teach six (6) half-credit courses a year at the undergraduate level, focused in the discipline of painting
- Participate in departmental activities and service
- Maintain a strong creative research practice
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to teach in a secondary discipline
- Knowledge of ecological, sustainable approaches and methods in the studio
