Requirements
- A Ph.D. in an African American studies-related field, such as Political Science, English, History, Philosophy, Women/Gender/Sexuality Studies, and other areas within the humanities and social sciences is required before the effective hire date.
- An excellent teaching record and successful teaching experience are required.
- Ability to teach various undergraduate courses on the African American Experience in history, culture, politics, religion, and thought is required.
- Onsite teaching is an essential function of this job.
Responsibilities
- Teach various undergraduate courses on the African American Experience in history, culture, politics, religion, and thought.
- Maintain a teaching load of three courses per semester (fall and spring).
- Engage in onsite teaching as an essential function of the job.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching courses focused on women and gender is preferred.
