Requirements

  • A minimum of two years of experience in Technical Design
  • Intermediate level understanding of G-Suite and Microsoft Office – Illustrator experience is a plus
  • Ability to use a tape measure and measure samples accurately in both decimals and fractions
  • Aptitude for reading and interpreting a spec sheet
  • Knowledge of fabrics, and how to identify knit and woven fabrics
  • Exposure to pattern-making, sewing, and fittings
  • Problem solving skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and interpret data
  • Exceptional attention to detail, able to balance speed and accuracy, self-edit, and correct inconsistencies
  • Sense of urgency with the ability to organize, prioritize, and reorder workload
  • Embrace change and apply initiative within a dynamic working environment
  • Able to manage large volumes of samples and lift up to thirty pounds
  • Professionally effective written and verbal communication skills with strong follow-up
  • Able to add, multiply, divide, and subtract fractions and decimals
  • Fluency in English including ‘Fashion’, ‘Fabrication’, and ‘Technical’ vernacular
  • Degree in Fashion specializing in Technical Design

Responsibilities

  • Select the correct ‘block’ template for the style and set up appropriate POMs, articulating exactly how to measure each POM
  • Measure all samples with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency
  • Enter sample measurements onto the spec template
  • Set up samples in the fit room prior to the fit session, preparing the product for an efficient session
  • Take thorough notes for the technical designer during the fit session and recap them to the fit audience for alignment
  • Take photos and hang samples during the fit session
  • Insert model images onto the spec template and initialize fit comments by referencing the fit session notes
  • Assist with processing final fit comments and assembling the required alterations, developing the ability to troubleshoot fit issues and formulate ‘one-and-done’ fit corrections
  • Measure the fit models twice monthly to protect fit consistency
  • Participate in model castings by sourcing, scheduling, and measuring the models
  • Return borrowed samples and file fit samples in the correct location
  • Participate in the monthly purge process
  • Measure samples to confirm spec compliance
  • Approve TOP samples in NetSuite, observing standard operating ‘TOP Approval’ procedures
  • Participate in TOP try-on sessions as needed
