Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) with strong academic credentials
  • Member in good standing of the Ontario Bar
  • 2–5 years of experience, either in-house or at a law firm
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a dynamic, team-oriented approach
  • Excellent analytical and advocacy skills, with the ability to draft, review, and apply legal advice effectively
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
  • Proficiency in leveraging technology to enhance the delivery of legal services
  • Adaptability and willingness to engage in a diverse range of legal matters
  • Ability to successfully complete all pre-employment requirements

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal counsel on transactional and commercial matters, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating customer contracts, collection, transportation, and disposal agreements, as well as requests for proposals and other commercial arrangements
  • Assist with labour and employment matters, including labour arbitrations and employment proceedings before courts and relevant tribunals
  • Enforce commercial and municipal contracts to ensure compliance and protect the company’s interests
  • Support the resolution of disputes and litigation matters as they arise
  • Manage special projects as assigned
  • Collaborate with and oversee external legal counsel as needed
