Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- 5+ years of in-house legal experience or equivalent corporate legal firm experience
- Strong knowledge of contract law, commercial terms, and risk management principles.
- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- Experience with contract lifecycle management (CLM) tools is a plus.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without future sponsorship
- Must have a reliable form of transportation.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of vendor contracts, including service agreements, software licensing agreements, consulting agreements, and non-disclosure agreements.
- Ensure contracts align with company policies, mitigate risks, and protect the organization’s interests.
- Maintain and update the contract management system to track contract status, key dates, and compliance requirements.
- Provide guidance to internal stakeholders regarding contract obligations and implementation.
- Ensure all vendor contracts comply with applicable laws and regulations.
- Identify and address potential legal risks associated with vendor relationships.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, IT, finance, and operations, to understand business needs and ensure contracts meet organizational objectives.
- Provide legal advice and recommendations to internal stakeholders regarding vendor relationships.
- Assist in developing and refining templates, playbooks, and standard operating procedures for vendor contracts.
- Stay current on legal trends and industry best practices to improve contracting processes and efficiency.
- Provide training and support to business teams on contracting best practices and compliance requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with data privacy, cybersecurity, and intellectual property issues as they pertain to vendor contracts.
