Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in related discipline. Equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 8 years of related work experience including the resolution of complex employee relations issues in a growing organization.
  • Prior experience supporting a growing commercial/field team of employees and/or G&A functions such as Finance, Corporate Strategy, and Information Technology.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity and inclusion, performance management, and federal and state employment laws.
  • Human resource experience in the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry highly desired.
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular meetings with business leaders and employees in the functions they support.
  • Act as a change champion for People Success.
  • Consult with management on a wide range of people focused topics, provide coaching and compliance guidance when appropriate.
  • Analyze trends and metrics to develop solutions, programs, and policies that support the broader organization.
  • Manage, facilitate and resolve complex employee relations issues.
  • Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations when necessary.
  • Guide on legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance; Provide policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Meet regularly with employees and leaders in support of the employee lifecycle including hiring, development, collaboration, and separations.
  • May develop a wide variety of legally compliant documents including but not limited to investigation reports, termination letters, performance improvement plans, and job descriptions.
  • Actively partner with internal and external legal support as needed.
  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity, collaboration and retention.
  • Guide on business restructures, workforce planning, performance management and other employee development requirements.
  • Identify training and skill needs for business groups.
  • Provide timely and effective support and change management in the delivery of various People Success initiatives; communicate, interpret and, where appropriate, recommend procedures for implementation.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the delivery of high-quality, consistent PSP services to the business including LOA/ADA, compensation recommendations, promotions, employee engagement, culture and talent acquisition.
  • Perform various Workday transactions and reporting in support of the business groups support including terminations, organization changes, and position management.
  • Will perform other related responsibilities as assigned.

  • Must be able to support a customer group of approximately 100 employees.

  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.

  • Understand the various total rewards offered in the Biotechnology industry.
  • Well organized with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage shifting responsibilities in a dynamic, cross-functional teamwork environment.
  • Excellent collaboration skills with strong attention to detail and managing complexity.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for others in the organization.
  • Ability to travel 10% domestically and internationally.
