Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Five (5) years of Coaching Experience with an NCAA Division I Field Hockey Program or the equivalent internationally
  • Knowledge of NCAA Rules and Regulations

Responsibilities

  • Develop skills of student-athletes; plan, prepare, and conduct individual and team practice sessions to train and prepare for competition and instruct student-athletes in techniques of the sport.
  • Serve as the lead international and domestic recruiter for the program. Responsible for identifying and evaluating prospective student-athletes and assisting in the development and execution of recruiting strategy for the program, including all official and unofficial visits and recruiting event schedules, etc.
  • Prepare and analyze scouting reports on all opponents to develop game plan/strategy.
  • Responsible for video technology, including game day, practices, video referral, uploading for coaches, team, opponents, and umpires.
  • Responsible for ensuring academic metrics are met (e.g. GPA goals, APR, GSR). Liaison to Academic Counselor and maintaining academic integrity and ensuring students are staying on track for NCAA eligibility or to graduate.
  • Mentoring, managing and development of the student-athletes. Assist in the development and execution of the program’s leadership curriculum.
  • Responsible for Compliance monitoring, submitting required weekly/monthly reports including recruiting activities, ARMS software, CARA logs, TeamWorks, etc.
  • Promote an atmosphere of compliance within the program through strict adherence to NCAA, ACC and university rules and regulations through monitoring of program activities, active involvement and commitment to continuous rules education, timely submission of compliance-related documents, and immediate reporting of any knowledge of potential rules violation involving self or others.

Preferred Qualifications

  • USA or other International Coaching Accreditation/Certification
  • Experience in video analysis i.e. SportsCode, Spiideo or the equivalent
  • Experience with program management (e.g., scholarships and financial aid; budgeting; playing season coordination, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, ARMS Software, and TeamWorks
  • Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
