Requirements

  • Candidates must have a DDS/DMD degree or equivalent degree and a certificate of advanced education in prosthodontics from a CODA-accredited program.
  • Candidates must be eligible for a regular or limited teaching license by the Ohio State Dental Board.

Responsibilities

  • Directing and supporting didactic and clinical courses in the predoctoral restorative dentistry curricula.
  • Contributing to the overall mission of the division.
  • Participating in university and college governance.
  • Supporting the college’s continuing education programs.
  • Practicing in the college’s affiliated contemporary intramural Dental Faculty Practice.
  • Promoting evidence-based teaching skills in an education setting, proficiency in prosthodontics, and a strong track record of scholarly activity.
  • Demonstrating a passion for student education.
  • Applying advanced technology to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Participating in teaching activities consistent with division goals.
  • Demonstrating effective teaching skills through student and peer reviews.
  • May serve as course director which includes preparation and distribution of course materials, management of lecture/laboratory schedules, and conducting and grading of all examinations.
  • Supporting a model for dental education that includes the incorporation of innovative technologies, interdisciplinary education and patient care, and evidence-based dentistry.
  • Providing interdisciplinary mentoring to students.
  • Demonstrating collaboration between college divisions.
  • Participation in college and/or university committees.
  • Membership in professional organizations and contributions to professional activities outside of the university.

  • Achieving primary authorship of scholarly publications that are predominantly data-based appearing in well-respected refereed journals.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preference will be given to candidates with training in dental materials, cariology, digital technology, and an MS, PhD, EdD, or other advanced degree.
