Requirements
- A firm commitment to the mission of BYU
- Master’s Degree from an accredited university, AND a valid Professional Educator License for the State of Utah with a ‘License Area of Concentration’ of ‘Administration’ OR willingness to obtain a Utah license within 6 months
- 2 years of K-12 teaching experience and 2 years of K-12 educational administration experience hiring and supervising teachers/faculty OR Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of technologies and pedagogical methodologies, especially as applied to distance learning education
- Experience and skills in hiring, mentoring, supporting, and evaluating K-12 teachers
- Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with various stakeholders, including faculty, staff, students, parents, and the community
- Impeccable integrity and a commitment to fostering a collaborative team environment
- Focus on customer service, with a professional and courteous demeanor suitable for executive-level work
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to speak persuasively and implement desired actions

Responsibilities
- Works directly with the program’s 150 high school teachers in addressing the following tasks: Recruiting, Interviewing, Hiring, Managing, Supervising, Mentoring, Evaluating, and Training
- Serve as the primary contact for assigned High School teachers on academic issues and teacher performance
- Consult with the Educational Services Manager and Academic Product Managers to propose improvements in faculty support strategies for curriculum improvement/development
- Develop an in-service training program for faculty contracted to support the department’s courses and students
- Ensure timely grading and feedback on assignments per contracted agreements
- Develop and manage relationships with part-time and full-time faculty to maintain support for Independent Study’s courses and BYU Online High School’s asynchronous and synchronous components
- Ensure faculty performance through annual evaluations, feedback, and PDPs
- Works directly with the program’s high school teachers (currently 15-30 teachers) to obtain teacher licensure in states outside of Utah
- Ensures the effective and efficient operation of the Educational Services Office and Functions
- Provides administrative support to the department’s assessment plan and processes
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS)
- Proficiency in utilizing educational technology to enhance learning and student management
- Working knowledge of Student Information Systems (SIS)
- Experience in online learning environments, particularly at the secondary level
- Experience with online learning curriculum development and role of authors/Subject Matter Experts (SME)
- Familiarity with teacher licensing in other states outside of Utah
