Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in related field
• CPR certification
• NATA (National Athletic Trainers Association) certification
• State of Illinois Athletic Training License
• Good communication skills
• Computer skills
• Interpersonal skills

• Team oriented

Responsibilities

• Provide support in delivery of quality clinical care
• Handles patient flow, including the preparing of rooms and patients
• Measures and records accurately: blood pressure, pulse, temperature, height, weight
• Demonstrates the ability to perform functions regarding athletic injuries: prevention, assessment, treatment, and reconditioning
• Provides patient education and discharge instructions including the demonstration of a prescribed home exercise program
• Performs various tests/procedures independently as prescribed by the physician
• Demonstrates proper taping, strapping, bracing, and fitting of athletic equipment
• Management of concussion patients utilizing ImPACT testing
• Maintains an ethical and professional medical environment
• Provides efficient high-quality service to patients
• Creates and maintains an environment that is patient centered
• Participates in activities to evaluate and improve processes
• Attends to waiting patients in reception area and ensures that they are seen in a timely manner
• Follows through on actions, takes ownership of job responsibilities
• Demonstrates leadership in day to day activities
• Assists in the implementation of center/organizational initiatives
• Collaborates with physician in planning and/or implementing new processes
• Understands order completion and documentation for appropriate charge capture and risk reduction
• Works with physician and billing department to accurately code and capture charge
• Maintains inventory par levels using standard products
