Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or public administration
  • 2 years of qualifying experience in professional auditing or accounting
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one year of paraprofessional auditing or accounting experience for each year of the required education
  • Strong knowledge of agency policies, state and federal regulations, and auditing principles
  • Ability to analyze complex data and make informed recommendations
  • Effective communication skills
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Organizational coordination across divisions

Responsibilities

  • Assist in establishing audit objectives, methodology, and procedures
  • Complete audit work for audits
  • Manage audit activities for timely completion
  • Obtain, analyze, and appraise evidentiary data for informed opinions
  • Prepare notifications and audit reports
  • Ensure thorough, objective, and well-documented audits
  • Assist in implementing and monitoring Program Integrity initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications in any of the following areas: Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Government Auditing Professional (CGAP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Healthcare Auditor (CHA)
