Requirements
- Strong finance analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Strong relationship management skills. Works effectively together through engagement and influencing others, collaborates effectively and optimizes talent
- Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to share insights in an impactful way and inspire desired outcomes
- 10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience (health, financial services or technology industry an asset)
- Business/strategic mindset with desire to forge business owner relationships and drive business value
- Strong leadership skills with an ability to work across multiple functions and business teams
- Connects the big picture, equally does a deep dive and understands the business and to manage complexity and interdependencies across deliverables
- Demonstrates ability to synthesize large amounts of complex business information to drive business understanding and set appropriate priorities
- Strives for results, optimizes work processes and aligns work to achieve measurable outcomes
- Operates well in ambiguity and is resilient in changing situations
- Excellent financial and business acumen and analytic capabilities
- Bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for Quebec only for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada or worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Lead financial management including financial reporting and analysis
- Provide financial counsel and advice to executive teams
- Act as strategic partner with business leaders to understand and achieve financial results
- Represent the Sun Life Health finance team on integration activities and monitoring value realization on strategic partnerships and acquisition integration
- Partner with integration team members on integration plans and closely monitor financial implications
- Track target dates and milestones to achieve targeted synergy outcomes
- Use data driven criteria to challenge assumptions, develop road map and influence decisions
- Identify opportunities to unlock value within the existing business
- Partner to assess and optimize expense management, taxation, revenue and market share growth in health business areas
- Manage and advise on various deep dives in collaboration with business and functional areas to analyze business profitability and potential optimization opportunities
- Lead, coach and develop team to support activities and future growth of the business.
Preferred Qualifications
