Requirements
- 8-10 years of experience in health and welfare benefits, retirement plans, and compliance.
- 3+ years of supervisory experience leading a benefits or HR team.
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, federal and state leave laws, and benefits regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Teams) and experience with HRIS/payroll platforms (Workday, UKG preferred).
- Excellent communication & leadership skills – Ability to interact with employees, executives, and vendors in a professional and collaborative manner.
- Detail-oriented & organized – Skilled in managing multiple priorities and ensuring accuracy in compliance and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Supervise & Support the Benefits Team – Provide guidance to Leave Administrators and other team members.
- Benefits Plan Expertise – Act as a resource for employees and benefit team leaders, interpreting health, welfare, and retirement plans.
- Ensure Compliance – Oversee ERISA compliance, FMLA administration, and regulatory filings, including ACA reporting and Form 5500s.
- Annual Enrollment & Pension Support – Coordinate open enrollment materials, assist with pension plan administration, and oversee benefits communications.
- HRIS & Data Management – Ensure accurate system configurations, compile reports, and analyze data for strategic planning.
- Financial Oversight – Manage benefit invoices, oversee reconciliation, and report self-funded medical and dental claims.
- Vendor & Stakeholder Collaboration – Work with benefits brokers, providers, and internal teams to optimize benefit programs.
