Requirements

  • 1-2 years of progressive experience and track record of success in hotel, private business, or government, including specific Human Resources responsibilities.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in both English and Spanish. Ability to provide oral and written translation between Spanish and English.
  • College degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that sound and consistent personnel practices are applied for all employees through compliance with all company human resource policies, and state, local and Federal legislation.
  • Manage all HR responsibilities for multiple hotel properties in the Dulles region, under the direction of the Area Human Resources Director.
  • Provide for impartial treatment to all team members through proper personnel practices and employment policies throughout the organization.
  • Ensure recruitment of the most qualified exempt applicants through proper administration of the employment function.
  • Maintain a professional and ethical image for all staff members within the organization.
  • Protect the ‘owners’ from any team member litigation.
  • Provide the tools to ensure team member satisfaction through training, such as orientation, technical skills training, management development training and interpersonal skills training.
  • Direct and administer team member relations to facilitate morale.
  • Direct wage and salary program to attract and retain qualified personnel.
  • Function as a key member of the property’s management team.
  • Provide effective, confidential administrative support to the General Manager.
  • Maintain liaison between all departments, the General Manager and Corporate Human Resources.
  • Provide direct assistance to team members and guests when appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Human Resources experience in a hotel (minimum 100 employees).
  • Degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • Certification through Educational Institute or through SHRM.
