Requirements

  • Total Experience: 6 – 10+ years of professional experience combining both structured environments (e.g., consulting, investment banking, or top management training programs) and entrepreneurial settings. Candidates must have at least 2 years in roles where they’ve demonstrated success in scaling or launching new business initiatives, while thriving in both corporate and unstructured, fast-paced environments.
  • Communication: Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Must be able to collaborate effectively with internal teams, external partners, and clients, while advocating for new business opportunities that align with Fora’s mission. Strong presentation skills and an ability to navigate complex discussions with business partners are essential.
  • Judgment: Demonstrated capacity to exercise sound judgment in a rapidly evolving travel landscape. Expertise in business operations, financial management, and strategic planning, with the ability to assess new opportunities, anticipate challenges, and make decisive, data-informed choices that drive the business forward.
  • Analytical Skills: A strong data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze market trends, operational metrics, and customer behavior. Must be adept at using data to guide strategic decisions and optimize processes.
  • Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Candidates should excel at organizing and leading cross-functional teams, ensuring timely delivery of initiatives and overcoming obstacles in a startup-like context.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field. MBA is optional but valued, especially if complemented by experience in leading new business initiatives in travel, hospitality, or related sectors. Commitment to continuous learning and personal development is essential, whether through formal education or hands-on experience in building businesses.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the identification and evaluation of new business opportunities that align with Fora’s core competencies, customer needs, and long-term vision for transforming the modern travel experience.
  • Conduct in-depth market research, competitive analysis, and feasibility studies to assess market trends, consumer behavior, and potential challenges. Use these insights to shape the strategic direction of new ventures.
  • Develop comprehensive business plans and roadmaps for launching new business units, detailing strategic goals, key milestones, KPIs, and success metrics. Ensure alignment with Fora’s overall growth and innovation strategy.
  • Drive the execution of product and service launches by creating detailed project plans, effectively managing resource allocation, and coordinating cross-functional teams, including product, operations, marketing, and finance.
  • Continuously monitor industry trends and customer feedback to identify opportunities for ongoing innovation and adaptation within the business unit.
  • Take full ownership of the P&L for the new business unit, managing all aspects of revenue generation, cost control, and profitability. Ensure the business unit operates efficiently and meets its financial goals.
  • Build and lead a high-performing team to support the growth and operational excellence of the new business unit. Develop a strong culture of accountability, innovation, and collaboration within the team.
  • Implement and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the business unit’s performance. Continuously analyze financial and operational metrics to identify areas for improvement and make data-driven decisions that enhance profitability and growth.
  • Provide regular, transparent updates to senior leadership on the business unit’s progress, identifying key challenges, risks, and future opportunities. Propose solutions and strategic adjustments to keep the business unit on track toward its goals.
