Requirements

  • University degree/College diploma or equivalent working experience & attained or working towards CIP designation.
  • Minimum 5-7 years experience in a claims adjudication environment handling litigated files
  • Strong knowledge of Insurance policy, coverage, and regulation in Ontario, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Alberta Bodily Injury
  • Legal compliance standards, case law interpretation and application, and dispute resolution processes
  • Conflict management and problem resolution skills in managing internal and external customer relationships
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills with the ability to collaborate with peers
  • Ability to provide consistent and superior level of customer service to internal and external customers

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the delivery of regional results to positively impact ACG financial performance within appropriate Claim performance metrics within the Key Performance area of cost containment & customer satisfaction
  • Identify improvement opportunities and solutions and make recommendations for changes or modification of existing quality and severity initiatives to improve results
  • Ensure proper execution and regional regulatory/legislative compliance of claim procedures and practices and make process recommendations to ensure full compliance to requirements
  • Provide technical assistance, consultation/coaching and training to regional staff to ensure consistency in implementation of claim quality standards, policies and procedures
  • Develop adjusters’ skills through coaching and mentoring
  • Assists the regions in the evaluation and handling recommendations on complex and catastrophic claims that exceed regional authority
  • Drive positive customer experience by delivering the value proposition defined by the brands for the region through the day to day guidance on claims handling and recommending the sourcing and utilization of appropriate third party service providers
  • Work within the continuous improvement model to identify needs/gaps and implement approved solutions designed to enhance customer satisfaction and employee engagement results
  • Recommend and implement appropriate control processes, mechanisms and practices, designed to protect ACG assets
  • Recommend and implement rigorous control system to detect and prevent fraud while achieving severity and ALAE targets
  • Ensure compliance with overall ACG, and regulatory, legal and ethical policies and requirements, including but not limited to Sarbanes Oxley, Privacy, Security and governance, to ensure adequate mitigation of risks
  • Ensure compliance with relevant Claim policies and procedures to accomplish regional severity, expense and quality targets
  • Participate in CHO file reviews
