Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, or Business.
  • 5+ years purchasing experience in the automotive industry.
  • 7+ years purchasing experience, including procurement expertise in direct materials, including but not limited to Fasteners.
  • Thorough understanding of the production process of the respective material.
  • Ability to support and lead data analytics.
  • Ability to travel to Suppliers worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure regular communication with all groups.
  • Continue analysis of worldwide fastener market.
  • Drive strategy definition on the level of sub-category level.
  • Handle Supplier categorization (Strategic, Keep, Grow and Phase Out) on a subcommodity basis and work with the Divisional Buyers to respect this framework in their daily business and awards of new programs.
  • Lead Cross-Functional Teams in design and execution of category sourcing strategies.
  • Prepare, support and drive negotiation at Suppliers by using cross group volume with the Group Buyers.
  • Provide an overview on the results of the negotiation, including a presentation of results.
  • Achieve targets and create budgets considering strategy and risk management.
  • Work on standardization and reducing number of variants.
  • Develop and implement procurement cost savings ideas.
  • Develop and maintain key Supplier relationships.
  • Coordinate all Supplier issues with applicable functional organizations.
  • Work on the performance of suppliers.
  • Lead, manage, and negotiate contracts and supply agreements in support of overall goals and objectives.
  • Lead internal reviews of contracts with required functional areas such as Legal, Finance, etc.
  • Identify, prioritize, and implement technical & commercial cost reduction and risk mitigation projects.
  • Ensure compliance of internal controls as it relates to company policies and procedures.
  • Handle other related duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and PowerBI.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, project management, and relationship building skills.
  • Strong organizational and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
