Requirements
- Certified Surgical Technologist
- One (1) year of scrub experience
- Educational and clinical training with documentation for surgical assisting
- Proof of completion of Military training as an Operating Room Specialist (68-D)
- Three (3) years of experience in the operating room environment
Responsibilities
- Prepares surgical set-up for procedures
- Observes and anticipates the needs of the surgeon during the procedure
- Functions within a sterile field
- Functions as a surgical assistant
- Drapes patients for surgical procedures and assists the surgical team during operative procedures
- Cleans and prepares rooms between procedures and after terminal cleaning
- Maintains and cares for equipment supplies
- Documents maintenance and repairs and troubleshoots equipment needs when necessary
- Performs assisting duties within the scope of a practicing CST Level II
- Performs other duties as assigned
