Requirements

  • Technical degree/diploma in Electrical, Electronic Technology, Instrumentation and Electronics, Mechanical Engineering or other technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in Instrumentation and Electronics (I&E), or plant operations/maintenance experience, OR at least 2 years of relevant training (college, military, technical/vocational school), in Instrumentation and Electronics, working with 120VAC and low voltage, analog and digital communication, installation and troubleshooting.
  • Mechanical aptitude for installations, mounting equipment, plumbing, conduit, tubing in PVC, SS, and copper.
  • Fundamental computer programming skills, including understanding Boolean and comparative logic.
  • Strong technical, cognitive ability to logically troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Clear, concise, and professional communication with customer and Suez personnel, verbally and in writing.
  • Responsible for complying with all safety, health, environmental policies and procedures relevant to the position.
  • Ability to work in multiple environments, indoor/outdoor in variety of industries, including Class 1 div 2 hazard classifications.
  • General knowledge of electrical equipment, chemistry and safety.
  • Visual, manual dexterity to competently service instruments and electrical equipment.
  • Ability to learn applicable company procedures within a reasonable time from start of employment.
  • Willing to travel 50% or more.
  • Proven organizational, time management skills, demonstrating ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Self-motivated, ability to initiate and drive projects to completion with minimal oversight, while demonstrating significant problem-solving abilities with an unfailing dedication to deadlines and commitments.
  • Proven ability to speak effectively before groups and customers, clients, and other employees within the organization.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency is required with at a minimum, word processing and spreadsheets, and basic data base knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Communication with colleagues, commercial sales teams, application engineering, and end customers, in scheduling, organizing on-site work, execution of install or problem resolution, summary reports and administrative tracking.
  • Commissioning, configuring provided equipment, programming controllers, then validating dynamic Chemical feed equipment operation on startup by calibration, validation, verification, in the safest manner possible and provide ongoing hardware/software support.
  • Troubleshooting hardware and software problems for customers and/or the field sales force via remote support technologies or on-site at customer locations. Resolving issues by repairing and/or calibrating instruments in accordance with designated O&M manuals.
  • Continuous desire to learn and grow into the role.
  • Ensuring all administrative duties and protocols are followed completed within prescribed timelines.
  • Clearly demonstrate a safety mindset in actions, performance, discussions, and reports.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) concentration is a plus!
  • Experience with industrial pumps and monitoring equipment plus a fundamental understanding of PLC control systems, PLC programming and troubleshooting is a plus!
  • Tech savvy – ability to learn company and site-specific computer applications and advanced testing and monitoring equipment.
