Requirements

  • Typically requires HS diploma. In the absence of a HS diploma or GED, 2 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. Collins Aerospace will not offer sponsorship for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Master a variety of chemical processes, such as anodizing, chromate conversion coating, and chemical etching, to ensure parts meet exacting aerospace specifications.
  • Stay well-informed about the disposal of hazardous waste, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and promoting workplace safety.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the chemicals used daily, their properties, and safe handling practices.
  • Be knowledgeable of all relevant customer and company specifications, as well as international standards, to ensure all processes and finishes meet the highest quality requirements.
  • Skillfully process parts to meet required specifications and pass all necessary evaluations, demonstrating a high level of competence and quality control.
  • Accurately document the processing of parts to meet customer requirements, ensuring traceability and accountability.
  • Be capable and willing to train other departmental employees, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
  • Show a strong commitment to good housekeeping and safety practices, maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work with minimal supervision, showcasing reliability and self-motivation.
  • Be proficient in handling all relevant equipment, ensuring efficient and accurate job completion.
  • Exhibit effective cooperation and communication with co-workers and personnel in other departments, promoting teamwork and a positive work culture.
  • Capably interpret and understand part drawings and illustrated planning, ensuring precise execution of work instructions.
