Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related medical or scientific discipline
- 5 years of experience
- Supervisory or lead experience
- Must have met the educational requirements for and passed a recognized Certification Examination for Medical Technologist (also known as Medical Laboratory Scientist, MLS or Clinical Laboratory Scientist, CLS)
Responsibilities
- Ensure the daily operation of the department is functioning at high quality and efficient levels
- Train new hires
- Monitor daily, weekly, monthly quality and maintenance reports
- Write and maintain chemistry related policies and procedures
- Ensure the chemistry departments remain in compliance with all regulatory/accreditation agencies working closely with the Laboratory Director
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP BOC) in chemistry preferred
