Civic Engagement Specialist

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and experience related to Civic Engagement, Community Outreach, Education, and Planning.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience, or 3-4 election cycles in political and issue advocacy campaigns required.
• Experience managing campaign staff or serving as a campaign staff or one or more political campaigns.
• Proven experience in managing internal processes, project teams, and budgets.
• Exceptional ability to analyze information, formulate plans, adopt plans and tactics as conditions change, and convey them in writing and through oral presentations.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Civic Engagement and Government Relations teams in support of the department’s goals and objectives to promote civic participation.
• Provide ongoing support to promote optimal communication among the civic engagement team, supporting departments, campaign consultants, temporary campaign staff, and volunteers to ensure optimal workflow.
• Ensure the efficient daily functioning and productivity of the campaign office.
• Act as the key liaison between the Civic Engagement team and external campaign consultants and campaign staff.
• Provide general administrative support, including scheduling staff meetings, taking meeting minutes, and preparing meeting materials.
• Assist AVP in creating and managing campaign budgets.
• Assist with the training of phone bankers, canvassers, and volunteers.
