Requirements
- US Citizen
- 5+ years of relevant experience with Bachelor’s degree; 3+ years of relevant experience with Masters degree
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent education)
- At least 3 years of job-related experience or equivalent
- Passed Fundament of Engineering (FE) Exam
- Works independently and collaboratively with guidance and direction from others
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to obtain a security clearance
- Position may require travel
- In-depth knowledge using AutoCAD with Civil 3D
- Working knowledge of regulatory codes and standards
- Working knowledge with commercially available hydraulic and hydrology software
- Working knowledge designing site drainage and storm water control systems
- Working knowledge of the design of underground utilities
- Working knowledge and expertise in Excel, and Word
- Ability to prepare various civil engineering calculations and drawings
Responsibilities
- Perform design, development or review tasks in specific areas under some supervision
- Design a portion or section of an analysis or design review
- Generate sections of design specifications of more complex projects or complete specifications of less complex projects
- Prepare, deliver and submit technical presentations for in process design and review meetings
- Establish and maintain a filing system or databases as needed for tracking project status
- Develop, maintain and produce technical documentation and system/subsystem specifications
- Direct interface and liaison with customers at all levels from quotation to final design and test activities, design reviews and technical working group meetings to comply with requirements and specifications
- Conduct site visits and investigate engineering problems, propose solutions and alternatives, and provide recommendations
- Verify and comply with engineering documentation standards and test procedures
- Performs engineering modeling, analysis, and design assignments of moderate complexity
- Prepares calculations, analyses, studies, specifications, reports, and other technical documents
- Reviews other discipline drawings and vendor drawings
- Performs discipline Material Take Off (MTO) activities using manual methods and computer applications
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineering Registration
- Master of Science degree in civil engineering
- Government or nuclear experience, i.e., DOD, DOE, NR
