Requirements
- A minimum of 4 years of claims or reinsurance operations experience.
- Prior reinsurance experience required.
- Proficient in MS Excel.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational and investigation skills.
- Ability to create spreadsheets and enter information into database.
- Ability to calculate reinsurance based on contract terms.
- Knowledge of the insurance industry, claims and the legal and regulatory environment.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a ceded reinsurance claim point of contact for internal claim department.
- Report claims per reinsurance contract terms.
- Develop external relationships with reinsurers.
- Flag issues and escalate urgent matters to management.
- Monitor incoming correspondence for material updates, assess potential severity and advise internal placement team.
- Respond to reinsurance inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Create and maintain claim identification and diary reports for workflow management.
- Comply with all relevant state and federal regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
- Insurance industry designation(s)/certification(s) preferred.
