Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Five years of experience in organ procurement or transplantation
- Progressively responsible managerial experience including hiring, orientation, scheduling and evaluation of employees in a clinical environment
- Quality management and improvement experience
- Detailed knowledge of UNOS and OSOTC policies and program standards related to organ transplantation and allocation
Responsibilities
- Oversee the living donor process, clinical nurses and the continuum of care for patients in your department
- Interact with Care Coordinators pre- and post-procedures
- Run daily/weekly reports
- Monitor metrics and manage team workflow and organization
- Lead and manage the nursing component of the Organ Transplant Program
- Ensure continuing nurse job satisfaction and fulfillment through the implementation of appropriate coordinator responsibilities, workload, teamwork and staff morale
- Ensure patient safety and QA, especially in the development of the Living Donor Program (kidney and liver only)
- Establish QA metrics and foci for CQDirect managerial responsibility of the Clinical Nurse Coordinators and matrix management responsibilities with the managers of the OR, ICUs and inpatient floors (adult and pediatrics)
