Requirements
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate
- HashiCorp Certified Terraform Associate
- Ability to work independently and exercise independent judgment and decision making
- Strong documentation skills and ability to work in fast paced environments
- Ability to assist internal and external customers in a personable and professional manner
- 4-5 years of experience as a Cloud Engineer or in a similar role
- 4-5 years of experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell)
- In-depth knowledge of cloud computing platforms such as AWS
- Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform
- Strong understanding of networking principles, security best practices, and data management in cloud environments
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture principles including serverless computing, SaaS implementation and best practices for building scalable and resilient cloud applications
- Experience with cloud security best practices, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, SOX compliance and network security
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools for cloud-based infrastructure such as Splunk
- Experience with configuring, deploying, and maintaining Active Directory services, including group policies, user accounts, and domain controllers
- Understanding of security best practices for Windows Server environments
- Knowledge of Windows Server backup and disaster recovery solutions to ensure data protection and business continuity.
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage cloud-based infrastructure and services, ensuring scalability, availability, and security.
- Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to architect and implement efficient and reliable cloud solutions.
- Optimize cloud resource utilization, monitor system performance, and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal performance and cost-effectiveness.
- Implement automation and infrastructure-as-code practices to streamline deployments, provisioning, and configuration management.
- Evaluate and recommend cloud services, tools, and technologies to improve efficiency and enhance system capabilities.
- Work with the audit and compliance team to ensure SOX compliance.
- Assist the security team with developing and enforcing cloud security best practices, including access controls, encryption, and vulnerability management.
- Provide technical guidance to WaFd information technology colleagues.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in cloud computing.
- Adherence to bank policies and procedures designed to comply with Federal regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act and OFAC regulations.
