Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field (preferred but not required; equivalent experience will be considered)
- 7+ years of experience in CNC machining and process development, preferably in the aerospace industry
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., NX, Solidworks, Mastercam, or similar software), CNC programming, and G-code
- Hands-on experience with multi-axis CNC machining centers, including setup, and operation
- Strong knowledge of GD&T, machining tolerances, and material properties
- Knowledge of inspection tools, gauging, and methods
- Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001, and other quality management systems
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement CNC machining processes, including: Material form selection, Operation sequencing, Fixture design, Machine selection, Tooling selection, Programming
- Analyze engineering drawings, CAD models, and specifications to determine machining strategies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including quality and production, to improve manufacturability and reduce cycle times
- Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues, including tooling wear, machine setup, and process deviations
- Evaluate and recommend new machining technologies, equipment, and tooling to enhance productivity, quality, and asset optimization
- Provide technical training and support to machine operators and other team members to build team capabilities
- Foster a culture of continuous learning by coaching team members on best practices and troubleshooting methodologies
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of Mazak controls and Mazatrol
- Experience with additive manufacturing or hybrid machining processes
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP)
