Requirements

• Must have an interest in pursuing a degree and/or career in Library and Information Sciences
• Possess a keen interest in journalism and the news industry
• Be a self-starter who can work independently and creatively, and readily adapt to an ever-changing work environment
• Have superior organizational skills, sublime attention to detail, and excellent current events awareness
• Have stellar written and verbal communication skills
• Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university degree program for the full duration of the internship (proof of enrollment required)
• Must be a rising Senior or Graduate Student (18 years or older)
• Must be in academic good standing (3.0 or above GPA) A transcript will be required to verify your GPA if an offer is extended
• Warner Bros. Discovery will only consider candidates who are presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and who will not require work visa sponsorship from Warner Bros. Discovery now or in the future in order to retain their authorization to work in the United States. Candidates currently on any student or exchange visa, including F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1, etc., will not be eligible for the internship program.

Responsibilities

• Will learn about asset management policies, including writing descriptive narratives of visuals, writing abstracts for editorial context, and how to add accurate and complete metadata to key database fields
• Will learn to apply indexing terms using the archive’s controlled vocabulary to enable quick and accurate retrieval of archive assets
• Will learn to mine for metadata in various newsroom systems or provided by production units involved with the creation of the content
• Projects involve the processing of videotape collections.
