Requirements

  • Education or experience is typically obtained through the completion of a bachelor’s degree.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in public relations, journalism, or a related field.
  • Prior experience working for a company with a strong brand.
  • Detail-oriented self-starter with the ability to organize, prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional project management skills, adept at maintaining multiple concurrent timelines with competing priorities. An ambitious self-starter.
  • Strong writing, copywriting, and editing skills with working knowledge of AP Style.
  • Ability to drive operational excellence and consistently deliver timely results independently with limited guidance in support of multiple stakeholders.
  • Highly effective interpersonal skills with the ability to develop effective relationships and trust throughout all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Support Early Warning’s Communications team in executing communications campaigns, monitoring and reporting results, and supporting the Communications department’s operations to enable the department.
  • Support Communications campaigns and activities, including drafting press releases, FAQs and other media materials, pitching media, monitoring coverage, measuring results, creating briefing documents and playbooks, and other assignments as needed.
  • Set and manage communications calendar, in coordination with key stakeholders.
  • Analyze and package daily news coverage.
  • Manage select inbound media inquiries and tracking, and draft press statements in response to anticipated questions.
  • Identify and manage department tools to track and report communications initiatives and results.
  • Monitor media, social and political trends that might affect Early Warning’s business.
  • Identify and monitor trends in the external environment, to include competitive presences and perceptions across channels. Advise communications colleagues and business partners about issues and opportunities.
  • Stay informed of developments in the field of communications/PR to help develop and deploy innovative tactics.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining processes that support the communications team’s efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Help manage external agency relationships, including onboarding, invoice processing, and budget tracking.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Education and experience typically obtained through completion of a bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism or public policy.
  • Experience working for a high-growth organization is a plus.
  • Experience crafting compelling corporate narratives.
  • Financial services or payments experience.
  • Crisis and issues management experience.
  • Agency experience a plus.
