Requirements
- Must reside in the Washington, DC metropolitan area and participate in MHHJ programming.
- Must have experience in fields related to health, humanities, or the arts.
- Demonstrated ability to work collegially with diverse professional and lay audiences.
- Scholarly initiative, creativity, and commitment to interdisciplinary research.
- Ability to reflect and uphold the Center’s values in all research and community engagement efforts.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement an interdisciplinary research project aligned with the Center’s annual theme.
- Foster collaboration within the Center’s interdisciplinary and collaborative ‘laboratory’ environment.
- Organize at least one public-facing workshop, conference, or event.
- Present findings to Georgetown and Howard communities.
- Promote and publicize Center community-wide events and activities.
- Serve as a resource for other fellows.
Preferred Qualifications
- Leadership and interpersonal skills to foster collaboration and scholarly engagement.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey research findings and contribute to academic discourse.
- Expertise in health humanities, health equity, health policy, community engagement, and/or public health.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to execute research projects and contribute to Center initiatives.
- Research and synthesis skills to produce compelling academic and public-facing work.
- Compassion, empathy, and open-mindedness to integrate multiple dimensions of health justice research, including clinical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and institutional aspects.
