Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Minimum of two years of medical billing coding experience
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and four years of medical billing coding experience required
- Credentialed as a coder by a nationally recognized accrediting body (e.g., CCS, CCS-P, CPC, or CPC-H)
- Certification must be maintained
- RHIA or RHIT preferred
Responsibilities
- Conducts audits of alleged violations of the corporation’s ethical standards or non-compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and corporate policy
- Ensures that audits follow the approved process and are thorough in gathering all material facts
- Presents clear, concise, and factual reports that enable fair and relevant decisions to be made
- Recommends proactive measures that will reduce the risk of similar future incidents
Preferred Qualifications
- College degree preferred
- 2-4 years of work experience preferred
