Requirements
- Four years progressively responsible experience in an independent commercial lines insurance agency required OR similar years of related work experience dealing directly with commercial insurance coverages
- Prior experience managing client accounts in the commercial construction space is highly desired
- Possess state insurance licensure as required by the Ohio State Department of Insurance to provide risk management consulting or risk transfer solutions as necessary in the state of Ohio OR be willing/able to obtain required licensure within the first 90 days of employment
- Professional designations such as CISR, MLIS, CRIS, CIC, ARM, CRM, and CPCU are preferred
- College degree preferred. High school diploma or equivalent is required
- Knowledge of commercial insurance and products
- Strong understanding and comfort using Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Existing knowledge of Applied Epic is preferred
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with assigned clients, serving as primary contact for all insurance questions and policy changes
- Attend and participate in carrier and client meetings
- Take primary responsibility for policy expiration management and client renewal processes
- Owns the renewal marketing process and develops marketing strategy for assigned renewal business
- Performs periodic coverage and risk reviews to ensure the adequacy of every clients’ insurance program, as well as contract reviews as requested by clients
- Review bid specifications and complete contract reviews for construction clients
- Support Advisors through marketing new prospective clients, communicating with carrier underwriters on the risk profile, determining where the best fit for the prospective client is and providing proposals
- Complete policy application details for newly bound policies into Epic
- Handle communications and correspondences from OHA associates, clients and carriers and work diligently to answer questions or resolve issues
- Agency billing including new business, renewal, and endorsement invoicing
- Assist with claim reporting and follow up as needed
- Support and adhere to agency goals and objectives
- Perform all other duties as assigned by Commercial Lines Manager
