Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, or relevant field combined with equivalent experience.
- Minimum of two years as a Controls Engineer at a System Integrator (preferred) or manufacturing facility.
- Experience in programming and debugging ABB (preferred) and/or Yaskawa (Motoman) robots.
- Experience in programming with Allen-Bradley Studio 5000 Designer (RSLogix 5000) and RSLogix 500 PLC software.
- Experience in developing HMI applications using Studio 5000 View Designer and FactoryTalk View Studio software.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand and address integrated system challenges.
- Proven ability to manage projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a high level of attention to detail.
- Familiarity with industry standards, safety regulations, and best practices in automation and controls engineering.
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet).
- Proficiency in CAD software for electrical schematics or system layouts.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement PLC and robot control programs to support manufacturing operations, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical and controls-related issues, leveraging a deep understanding of equipment sequences and automation systems.
- Respond promptly to equipment downtime, coordinating with internal teams and external resources to minimize disruptions and restore functionality.
- Develop and enhance Human-Machine Interface (HMI) applications to improve operator interaction and system monitoring.
- Lead equipment improvement projects, from concept to execution, ensuring alignment with production goals and timelines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional launch teams to successfully transfer new technologies and processes to the production environment.
- Support the selection of suppliers for capital equipment and ensure project milestones and delivery schedules are met.
- Assist in the development and implement preventative maintenance plans for electrical and control systems on new and existing equipment.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including equipment lists, spare parts, and electrical drawings, to support operational continuity.
