Requirements
- Clearance Required: TS/SCI
- Bachelor’s degree in technology related field with 6+ years of experience with Systems Administration (or equivalent experience)
- Proven experience as a Core Services Engineer or a similar role managing critical infrastructure components
- Solid understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and services such as DNS, DHCP, LDAP, etc.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Experience managing virtualization solutions such as VMware or Microsoft Hyper-V
- Experience with deploying & hardening Windows Server 2016/19/22
- Experience with a variety of system administration experience in areas such as AD, SCCM, IIS, SQL, Remedy ITSM, M3, Exchange, Linux, Unix, SNOW, Commvault, Netapp, Patch Management
Responsibilities
- Designs, deploys, and maintains core services infrastructure, including but not limited to DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, LDAP, and other critical components.
- Implements best practices for monitoring, logging, and alerting to ensure high availability and optimal performance of core services.
- Troubleshoots and resolves complex issues related to core services infrastructure and collaborate with other teams to address system-wide problems.
- Continuously assesses and improves the security posture of core services, ensuring compliance with industry standards and internal policies.
- Automates repetitive tasks and streamline processes to increase efficiency and reduce manual interventions.
- Performs system administration of desktop and server systems connected to LAN and WAN; account monitoring, security, Operating System (OS) installation, and other local area system administration related functions.
- Installs, administers, and maintains core services related virtual environments, physical hosts and storage devices.
- Provides Tier 3 and Tier 4 problem identification, diagnosis and problem resolution.
- Provides support for the escalation and communication of status to management and internal customers and technical and non-technical personnel.
- Proposes new technology, lead and manage special projects, develop project plans with customer input and manage requirements and project operations.
- Documents system configurations and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Provides on-call support/response for critical system emergencies, as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation and system management tasks.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience in ensuring Service Level Agreement (SLA) compliance.
- 5 Years of Experience managing IT Projects for classified systems.
- Support to DHS Programs Knowledge/Experience.
