Requirements

  • A degree level education in a sustainability or audit related field
  • 2-4 years of experience in ESG/ sustainability assurance (audit) and/or GHG emissions accounting and sustainability reporting
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of sustainability and GHG accounting, for example GRI Standards, GHG Protocol, ISSB, CDP, DJSI, TCFD and SDGs.
  • 1-2 years of experience of auditing or assurance standards used for sustainability/GHG reporting (e.g. ISAE3000, ISAE3410, ISO14064:3, PCAOB Attestation Standards)
  • Technical knowledge of environmental impacts and emissions including climate change and GHG accounting
  • Ability to support, manage, and plan tasks across multiple projects in parallel to meet client expectations and delivery deadlines while supporting and reviewing work from more junior colleagues in completion of the same
  • A broad interest in sustainability and societal challenges with an understanding of sustainability (business) issues (e.g., governance, environment, health and safety, human rights, supply chain management and community relations) and the assurance landscape
  • Demonstrable experience of being client facing with an appreciation for maintaining and developing client relationships
  • Strong data and spreadsheet analysis skills (use of Microsoft Excel) along with professional verbal and writing capabilities
  • Willingness to travel for visits to client head offices and operational sites, sometimes at short notice (typically concentrated between Jan – May)
  • A willingness and ability to learn quickly and contribute enthusiastically to our growing business
  • Be a team player with a high degree of self-motivation acting as a role model to more junior colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Support Project Managers with day-to-day delivery of independent assurance of GHG/ESG information.
  • Take responsibility for performing assurance procedures across a range of projects including media research, analytical data review, evidence collection, site visits and disclosure review, under the guidance of project managers.
  • Maintain and monitor documentation and project files in line with independent assurance standards and internal quality requirements.
  • Support more senior colleagues during client head office and site level visits and occasionally act in the Manager role under the guidance of a more senior colleague.
  • Support in the technical development of more junior staff through work paper reviews and providing practical guidance during engagements.
