Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a relevant degree program (communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field)
  • Availability to work full-time office hours, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; part-time schedules may be considered
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Passion for community engagement and charitable initiatives
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and execution of a wide range of employee and customer communications materials including email communications, Slack postings, presentations, surveys, calendar invitations, website content, internal videos, social content, and digital signage
  • Coordinate media relations efforts by working with Aptive’s PR agency on press outreach and monitoring media coverage.
  • Help create a Corporate Communications Style Guide to ensure consistency in branding, tone, and messaging.
  • Assist in tracking communication performance metrics and preparing reports on engagement and effectiveness.
  • Utilize a variety of communications tools/channels/platforms while learning company messaging and brand guidelines
  • Contribute to new communications initiatives, including enhanced communications and thought leadership campaigns
  • Offer fresh perspectives on emerging communication trends
  • Create engaging and informative content for company pages including LinkedIn
  • Collaborate with the communications team on planning and executing company events
  • Assist in staffing company-wide events and activities, such as Town Halls
  • Support Aptive’s community outreach and charity initiatives (“Aptive Gives Back”)
  • Prepare and deliver follow-up communications, status updates, and results reports
  • Review and edit communication materials to ensure accuracy, clarity, and adherence to Aptive’s brand guidelines
  • Build cross-functional relationships with fellow interns; participate and represent the Corporate Communications Department in Aptive intern activities
