Requirements

  • Must currently possess a Juris Doctorate from an ABA accredited law school and be a member in good standing of at least one state bar.
  • Experience: 3-5+ years of healthcare contracting and compliance experience within employer benefits, healthcare providers, or healthplan/insurance industries.
  • Negotiation and Influence: Strong skills in contract review and negotiation, collaboration, and relationship management, with the ability to influence key stakeholders effectively.
  • Communication Excellence: Expertise in presenting complex information and insights in ways that resonate with diverse audiences.
  • Project Management: Proven ability to define goals, create action plans, and deliver results in a dynamic environment.
  • Adaptability: Thrives under pressure, can prioritize competing demands, and excels in a fast-growing organization.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and consult with Legal colleagues to ensure alignment across departmental initiatives incorporating multiple legal perspectives.
  • Draft, revise, review, and negotiate a variety of agreements, including new client sales, health plan agreements, participating provider agreements, and general commercial agreements, ensuring appropriate consideration is made for legal requirements and business objectives.
  • Develop and share healthcare and legal expertise with others, including disseminating best practices, playbooks and templates.
  • Provide solution oriented legal advice and guidance in areas of U.S. healthcare compliance laws and regulations, including HIPAA, ERISA, fraud waste and abuse regulations, and state healthcare licensing requirements.
  • Collaborate with Compliance, Risk and Internal Audit on risk management and process improvements and adherence to legal requirements.
