Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required
  • 1-3 years of human resource management experience
  • Must have knowledge of human resources principles including benefits, recruitment, state and federal employment and labor law, and employee relations
  • Strong ability to communicate at various levels of the organization (written and verbal)
  • Organizational savvy: possesses the ability to understand the culture in which one operates, and is able to effectively influence and drive change
  • Comfortable working within a matrix organization
  • Highly motivated self-starter and able to perform at multiple levels (strategic, tactical, administrative)
  • Able to simplify and clarify situations and processes; delivers operational value through intelligent application of processes
  • Excellent IT Skills, particularly Microsoft Office and HRIS systems

Responsibilities

  • Acts as a liaison between managers and employees assigned to corporate functions across the organization to learn about, investigate, respond to, and resolve employee relations issues matters
  • Acts as a resource for management on matters of employee discipline to ensure a consistent application of all policies and procedures
  • Coordinates the internal dispute resolution process upon receiving an employee request
  • Supports the Talent Acquisition team’s recruitment and retention efforts and leads corporate cultural committee meetings
  • Ensures the consistent application of company policies, issues written discipline documents, investigates alleged misconduct, and coaches leadership on disciplinary matters
  • Ensures adherence to all federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Assists in maintaining, monitoring, and updating Human Resources policies and forms while ensuring that regulatory requirements are met
  • Promotes effective and positive communication between HR and all corporate employees
  • Works with HR leadership to develop, document, and implement enhanced Human Resources processes when needed
  • Manages multiple administrative workflows, including Challenge’s immigrant worker program and other legal matters
  • Meets with new managers to orient them to HR processes. Conducts in-services on Human Resources topics for management as needs are identified
  • Is the representative and contact for all corporate employees in the HR function
  • Supports the VP of Human Resources with other duties as assigned
