Requirements

  • Master’s degree in psychology, social work, recreational, art, or music therapy, or a behavioral science field
  • Two (2) years of post-Master’s experience unless varianced by the State
  • Certified Mental Health Investigator, or ability to obtain certification
  • Certified Protective Services Investigator, or ability to obtain certification
  • Certified Mental Health Examiner, or ability to obtain certification
  • If not a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker or a Ph. D., must obtain Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor certification
  • Knowledge of the diagnosis and treatment of mental illness and addictions and principles of counseling
  • Ability to use independent judgment including finely developed decision making, planning, analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to prepare and maintain detailed and accurate records
  • Ability to communicate and coordinate well with a diverse population
  • Ability to understand, interpret and apply laws, regulations and administrative rules related to mental health and chemical dependency
  • Ability to learn and implement CCS procedures, regulations and requirements
  • Must be a self-starter and demonstrate the ability to supervise and assign work to subordinates
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral formats
  • Must have excellent typing skills and knowledge of basic office software programs

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical supervision and oversight on a daily and regular basis to assigned clinicians
  • Ensure that care is of the highest clinical standards and consistent with CCS philosophy and policy
  • Ensure that assigned clinicians are apprised of current evidence based practices (EBP’s)
  • Implement EBP’s and ensure that the agency is meeting or exceeding standards of good clinical outcomes
  • Ensure that all paperwork by the clinical staff is completed in a professional and timely manner
  • Provide supervision when paperwork goals are not being met
  • Ensure that the quality of clinical work is superior and completed in a professional manner
  • Assist with crisis consultation agency-wide to include investigations and examinations
  • Provide after-hours emergency services on a 24 hour, rotating basis to adults and children
  • Ensure knowledge and application of CCS personnel policies and procedures
  • Recruit, hire and train new staff
  • Provide supervision and conduct performance evaluations
  • Engage in disciplinary actions when necessary
  • Report all cases of abuse or neglect to the proper agency
  • Provide follow up and complete all investigative reports when required
  • Initiate holds, provide civil commitment investigations, and work with hospitals and case workers
  • Provide utilization management for adults and children needing to access higher levels of care
  • Schedule and participate in meetings with other agencies
  • Maintain a caseload and provide quality individual, group and family counseling services
  • Follow the grievance process for customer complaints
  • Ensure that the agency is meeting or exceeding all of the requirements for the relevant OAR’s
  • Ensure that clients are scheduled in a timely manner
  • Responsible for ensuring clinical staff coverage
  • Work with contracted prescribers to coordinate medical treatment
  • Work with Quality Assurance Coordinator to ensure that clinicians are meeting quality assurance standards
  • Participate in internal administrative meetings and hold regular clinical staff meetings
  • Communicate with members of the public about services
  • Serve on various boards or committees in the community
  • Assist Office Manager in ensuring good working relationships between clerical and clinical staff
  • Administer forms for urinalysis testing and provide accurate information on the UA’s to clients
  • Transport customers as needed
  • Participate in back up on call rotation for crisis services
  • Other duties as assigned
