Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or similar technical major or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years relevant Data Engineering experience
- Experience designing, developing, and optimizing real-time and batch data processing pipelines using Akka Streams and Spark
- Experience developing and maintaining custom Java, Scala and Python components to facilitate insights from the processed data via transformation, normalization, and enrichment
- Experience creating interactive dashboards for internal customers delivering insights from real-time and batch-processed data stored in Druid, Hive and other databases
Responsibilities
- Involved in all aspects of data engineering, including ideation, design, implementation, deployment, customer onboarding, and support
- Regular cross-team collaboration with Verisign Data Platform, Business, Infrastructure, Engineering, Security, and Operation Teams
- Take full ownership of the data products
- Regularly interact with internal customers, proactively identifying, prioritizing, and delivering on their common data needs
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing provisioning code to deploy components on Kubernetes
- Experience developing automation for CI/CD and common tasks using Jenkins
- Ability to ensure stability of pipelines and components through observability and alerting
- Ability to identify and address pipeline performance bottlenecks
- Ability to troubleshoot complex data processing issues in large, distributed environments
- Staying up to date with the data engineering best practices and industry standards, focusing on hybrid cloud environments
- Supporting data product customers
