Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field from an ABET-accredited university
  • Some experience with Python or R for data analysis
  • Familiarity with tools like pandas, NumPy, tidyverse or scikit-learn
  • Basic understanding of machine learning concepts such as regression, classification, or clustering
  • Exposure to SQL and querying databases
  • Introductory understanding of statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, and experimental design
  • Must have authorization to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High performance orientation with the ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills
  • Self-starter with a positive attitude and a passion for delivering high-impact results.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Data Science team by exploring and analyzing data to uncover trends, patterns, and insights that inform business decisions
  • Help build, evaluate, and refine predictive models and machine learning algorithms under the guidance of experienced team members
  • Clean, preprocess, and organize datasets from multiple sources (structured and unstructured)
  • Assist with creating data visualizations, dashboards, and presentations to communicate findings to stakeholders
  • Learn about experimentation and contribute to A/B testing efforts or analysis of pilots and operational trials
  • Participate in team meetings and cross-functional collaborations to better understand business needs and how data can help
  • Stay up to date with the latest in data science and machine learning tools and techniques
  • Ensure compliance with data governance, privacy, and security policies in all projects and analyses.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with data visualization tools like Tableau, PowerBI, matplotlib, or ggplot
  • Familiarity with version control tools like Git or GitHub
  • Interest in natural language processing (NLP) or Generative AI (GenAI) is a bonus
  • Interest in the airline, travel, or e-commerce space is a plus
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure) is a bonus but not required
  • Willingness to ask questions, take feedback, and learn from others
  • Strong attention to detail and a growth mindset
