Requirements
- Degree or equivalent experience desired
- Knowledge of data gathering and analysis tools, techniques, and processes; ability to collect and synthesize data from a variety of stakeholders and sources in an objective manner to reach a conclusion, goal, or judgment.
- Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.
- Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
- Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
- Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
- Knowledge of processes and methods of Demand Management; ability to effectively sense, predict, plan for and manage the demand for products and services.
- Knowledge of forecasting tools, approaches and practices; ability to determine product demand and estimate production requirements and loads.
Responsibilities
- Collect and analyze data related to the supply chain to identify trends, patterns and/or areas for improvement. This includes inventory levels, production data, transportation costs, and delivery times.
- Forecast demand and plan inventory levels accordingly.
- Identify potential supply and demand issues and devise ways to minimize stock shortages.
- Work closely with commercial and finance teams to understand demand forecast drivers.
- Interact with sales, engineering and facilities operations on production schedules and expected deliverables.
- Monitor the accuracy of inventory levels at warehouses to ensure supply meets demand.
- Identify and report on inventory trends and slow-moving items.
- Provide input to the Supply Planning organization in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs.
- Track and analyze supplier performance metrics.
- Collaborate and negotiate with suppliers to deliver materials per requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- ASCM CSCP, CPIM or similar certification
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting, and familiarity with demand planning software and tools such as QAD/Mfg Pro.
- Background in Supply Chain Management, Accounting, Procurement or similar discipline.
