Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED with four (4) yrs of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and provide administrative support, training, and assistance to students, staff, faculty, and other School of Public Health and Information Sciences departmental partners regarding university procedures, regulations, student-related matters, SPHIS departmental policies, procedures, business, student, and academic operations.
  • Coordinate and support the HMSS Department chair, faculty, adjunct faculty, lecturers, and Executives in residence for HMSS.
  • Schedule meetings for the HMSS Chair, committees, faculty, staff, and development agendas and take meeting minutes as needed.
  • Develop and submit reports and documentation for accreditation with CAMHE and CEPH.
  • Participate in staff development by attending relevant conferences and professional development opportunities.
  • Coordinate departmental retention actions, including organizing events focused on continuous improvement related to students and alumni.
  • Oversee travel profiles and arrange for faculty, staff, students, and guest speakers.
  • Coordinate course offerings, semester schedules, and textbook orders.
  • Assist program directors associated with degree program operations.
  • Initiate the preparation and submission of various forms and documents that require graduate school approval in collaboration with student services.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous office experience in an academic setting and familiarity with the University of Louisville’s systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Excellent written and telephone communication skills, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint knowledge, and professional demeanor and social skills.
  • Be flexible, strive for service excellence, and be easy to work with and pleasant to faculty, students, and co-workers.
