Requirements
- Minimum of 4+ years of related experience in data engineering, platform development, or similar roles.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required; a master’s degree is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with data platform tools such as Java, Kafka, Spark, Snowflake, and Data Bricks.
- Familiarity with technologies for data ingestion, storage, processing, and analytics.
- Proficiency in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and cloud deployment models.
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with large-scale data systems.
- Foundational knowledge of data governance, data security, and best practices for enterprise data management.
- Understanding of scalable data pipelines and workflows to support analytics and business intelligence.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
- Strong communication skills to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and solve technical challenges independently.
- Desire to stay up to date with emerging technologies and contribute to the firm’s data innovation.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the design, development, and deployment of data platform components, focusing on scalability, performance, and security.
- Develop and maintain data ingestion, storage, processing, and publication pipelines using tools such as Snowflake, Kafka, Spark, and Data Bricks.
- Collaborate with senior developers and platform architects to implement cloud-native solutions on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Support the development of data engineering pipelines to enable analytics and machine learning capabilities.
- Contribute to the integration of the enterprise data platform with other systems to ensure seamless data flow and usability for stakeholders across the firm.
- Troubleshoot and optimize existing platform components to improve performance and reliability.
- Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies to improve platform capabilities and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and privacy standards in all development activities.
