THE ROLE:

As a Developer Success Engineer at Baseten, you will bridge the gap between engineering and our developer community, ensuring users have an exceptional experience with our ML infrastructure platform. This role combines technical problem-solving, customer advocacy, and product development to help customers successfully implement ML solutions at scale using Baseten’s open-source Truss system.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Partner with our Forward Deployed Engineering team to provide technical support and build tools and capabilities that enhance developer success, diving deep into customer use cases and helping them achieve their goals with Baseten’s platform

• Develop and maintain documentation, tutorials, and technical guides that enable developers to effectively use Baseten’s products

• Contribute to product development by implementing new features and fixing bugs based on developer feedback and needs

• Own the internal tools used to streamline customer support

• Act as a technical liaison between customers and internal engineering teams, providing critical feedback to influence product development and feature prioritization

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and improve ML deployment workflows and user experience

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field

• 1+ years of professional work experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment

• Strong proficiency in Python and experience with ML/AI concepts and workflows

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly

• High degree of customer empathy and proven ability to understand both high-level goals and technical details

• Ability to work autonomously and prioritize effectively in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment

• Experience with developer tools, CI/CD, and version control systems

NICE TO HAVE:

• Experience with ML model deployment and optimization

• Prior experience in a customer-facing technical role

• Contributions to open-source projects or technical documentation

• Familiarity with MLOps tools and best practices
