Requirements

  • A strong understanding of business and technology with an established track record for successfully planning, delivering, and managing complex digital platforms and solutions of varied scope, size, and end-user impacts.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and communicate proficiently (both verbally and in writing) with internal and external teams across all layers of the organization, including virtual team members across multiple time zones.
  • Passion for delivering value to business partners and end-users, with a customer-centric mindset that anticipates business needs and responds positively to feedback.
  • Extensive experience in system design and integration.
  • 5+ Years of experience with programming languages (PowerShell, python, shell scripting).
  • Extensive experience with TCP/IP, DNS, CDN, HTTP, WAF, OAuth, SAML.
  • 3+ years of experience with Azure infrastructure and O365 services and technology.
  • 3+ years of experience with AWS infrastructure as a service.
  • 3+ years of experience with cloud service, infrastructure orchestration, and automation tooling (OMS, AppInsights, Dynatrace, Splunk, Azure Runbooks, CloudFormation, Terraform, Azure Dev/OPS, etc.).
  • Robust analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, collaboration, prioritization, and adaptability skills, with the ability to demonstrate empathy and a desire to help teammates succeed.
  • Initiative to take on responsibilities with minimal prompting or oversight.
  • Experience engaging with executive and business stakeholders, with the ability to adjust the message to the audience and explain complex concepts in easily understood ways.
  • Time management with the ability to organize, assess, and prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and demands.
  • Experience in agile, hybrid-agile, and plan-driven software delivery methodologies, system design, integration, and ITSM.
  • Familiarity with Bitbucket, Git, Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, Miro, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Desire to learn.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage HUB’s digital infrastructures and platforms, ensuring the availability and performance of HUB’s mission-critical suite of products and applications that are hosted within a cloud environment.
  • Understand the needs and challenges of the Business, Marketing, and Technical teams and devise solutions that advance their business and technical goals.
  • Collaborate with product owners, design teams, technical leads, and other stakeholders to identify business, technical, and operational requirements.
  • Ensure that the digital platforms align with the company’s strategic goals and customer needs.
  • Practice continuous improvement in standards, processes, designs, and tooling.
  • Partner with development teams to ensure that solutions are designed with customer user experience, scale/performance, and operability in mind.
  • Work closely with security and compliance teams to ensure that digital platforms adhere to corporate policies, address vulnerabilities, and align with industry standards.
  • In concert with the DevOps team, deliver a DevOps-enabled foundation that utilizes tools and processes to identify application issues rapidly and ensures ongoing production availability.
  • Assist in or independently create robust, scalable, and high-quality automation solutions for infrastructure-defined software development.
  • Connect the digital platform(s) to various systems and services.
  • Define performance benchmarks and develop and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for environmental, application, and operational performance that align with business and program objectives.
  • In concert with the ITSM/Tooling team, monitor systems and application performance and system resource utilization to ensure the performance and reliability of mission-critical applications.
  • Contribute to designing, developing, and integrating HUB’s digital platform engineering and operations frameworks, including policies, standards, guidelines, and tools.
  • Be available 24/7 for any critical system issues that require immediate resolution, providing leadership and direction to a multi-disciplinary IT team.
  • Support root-cause analysis for service interruption and establish preventive measures, mitigations, or needed changes.
  • Contribute to the evaluation of cloud applications, infrastructure, and associated costs at regular intervals.
  • Participate in ‘Technical Archeology’ efforts (Platform and System Decomposition) to determine the digital platform needs to integrate with legacy, acquired, or new systems and services.
  • Engage with management regularly with reports on project status, activities, and achievements.
  • Partner with multiple internal and third-party resources, collaborating with business teams, IT, and vendors.
  • Support an environment of growth and development and a culture of customer obsession, inclusion, agility, and learning.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Google infrastructure as a service experience is a plus.
  • Insurance background is a plus.
